Thomas Kent

by Peter Power/Johnny McCarthy

On May 9, 1916 Thomas Kent became the only man outside of Dublin to be executed on Irish soil in the immediate aftermath of the Easter Rising.

The thrilling and heartbreaking story of Cork man Thomas Kent, part of a prominent nationalist family who lived in Castlelyons, follows his journey from his involvement in the land league, to advocating for Irish independence to becoming a well-known member of the Irish Volunteers.

This is a small sample of the music from the show. A special thanks to Jimmy McCarthy for his grace and talent, and his willingness to try the ideas with a far-from-accomplished Tradie like myself.
